importance of mentoring

Here’s what Brad Keywell had to say about mentoring. Brad’s comments led to a discussion among participants afterwards about the role of mentoring. Found it interesting to hear that it should be an informal approach for advice or conversation and not asking someone to become your official mentor (as it implies a big time commitment and responsibility). After time this develops into a proper mentoring partnership. It was also suggested to have more than one mentor, to get a range of perspectives and ability.
