Now that it’s over what memories does the World Cup conjure up for you apart from the football? I’ve two. First, is watching a friendly busker in downtown Chicago singing Olé Olé Olé Olé, Olé Olé . Second, was singing Olé Olé Olé, Olé Olé in Chicago with fellow TN2020′s on the bus from the Museum of Science and Industry after the closing ceremony of TN2020 – everyone was in high spirits after an amazing week.
You can watch the tip tapping friendly busker below:
Just thought i’d get my blog singing and dancing again. I’ve been away for a while.

One that stands out is the opening game, when the hosts (my country, South Africa), played Mexico. There was such great national spirit on the day (and in those few weeks – even before the tournament). I was driving when we scored the first goal, and it was a bit crazy – everyone was hooting, cheering, etc.
Sitting in an open-air restaurant in a campsite in France surrounded by Dutch supporters but not really caring who won.
But when the Dutch insisted in jumping up every time one of their team looked at the ball and then wouldn’t sit down (even when asked pleasantly) I became an immediate Spanish supporter – as did all of the other neutrals.
And then there was the goal. Ole,ole, ole!
